Before allowing the audience in the studio for Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Jan. 10, the late-night host spoke directly to the camera and gave a touching tribute to his friend. While reflecting on all messages people sent to follow the actor unexpected death Over the weekend, Kimmel noticed how the word “sweetest” popped up over and over again.
“The reason people write that is because it’s true,” he said. “It’s the sweetest word. If you have to pick one word to describe him, that’s it: sweetest. I’ve had so many kind and helpful texts and emails, calls from Bob. He’s always there. a compliment. He writes only occasionally. to tell me he loves me, and I know he does that for a lot of people. ”
Kimmel also spent a moment remembering Saget’s humor. “He was so funny,” he continued, “and I didn’t mention it Full house, o Funniest Home Videos in America, or stand-up comedy or movies. I mean, really funny. Like, when you walk into a party [and] you see Bob and his wife Kelly [Rizzo] around the corner, you go straight to them and stay as long as you can because he has a laugh to say about everything and nothing bad to say about anyone. Absolutely not. There are people he doesn’t like. He kept it to himself. Unlike me, he is a good man. “
