Jodie Foster to Star in HBO’s True Detective Season 4


After 31 years since the theatrical release of The Silence of the Lambs, Jodie Foster will once again hone her intelligence skills as she is officially back on television. According to The deadlinethe Oscar -winning actress has signed for a series regular role on upcoming HBO True Detective Season 4 titled Country of the Nightwhich is from executive producer Barry Jenkins.

Foster is set to portray the lead role of Detective Liz Danvers. It marks A-lister’s first major scripted TV project in nearly five decades since appearing in numerous movies and TV shows in the 1970s such as Eddie’s Father’s Birth, Julia, Gun smoke, Mountain Danger, Daniel Boone, Ironside, Kung Fu, Alexander, Moon Paper and so on.

True Detective: Country of the Night Written by Issa Lopez and Alan Page Arriaga, with Lopez expected to direct several episodes. It could be the executive that Foster did with Jenkins, Adele Romanski, and Mark Ceryak through their Pastel banner.

“The series centers around Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro seeking to solve the case of six men operating the Tsalal Arctic Research Station who went missing without a trace, when a long winter night fell on Ennis, Alaska, ”reads the synopsis. “The couple has to face the darkness they have brought upon themselves and dig into the troubled truths buried under the eternal ice.”

Additional executive producers include Mari Jo Winkler, Matthew McConaughey, and Woody Harrelson along with Cary Joji Fukunaga and series creator Nic Pizzolatto who will not be involved in the creation process for the fourth season.
