Like most of us, Josh Klinghoffer currently mourning the loss of Betty White, WHO died on New Year’s Eve just a few weeks before his 100th birthday. The former Red Hot Chili Peppers member honored the longtime TV icon by sharing the guitar cover of the theme song to Golden ladies, the sitcom that helped solidify White’s legendary status.
“There have been a lot of losses lately, a lot of endings,” Klinghoffer wrote on Instagram. “It happens all the time everywhere, but these past few weeks have seen the loss of some important people in my life. I rarely feel like I have any wisdom to share, but the son of the producer of the show I included the theme song in saying it, and I think it’s even better. He said (like), ‘We’re all experts at being exactly who we were the day before.’ ”
He continued, “As this is a beginning of sorts, tomorrow, maybe try and do something different. Make that call. Start that book. Walk and breathe outside. Stop that fight. Gibati. Try and repair some of the broken things you see around you, inside and out. Live life knowing that you have no eternity because all life is coming to an end. ”Listen to his cover of Golden Women theme song below.
Klinghoffer’s last studio album with the Red Hot Chili Peppers was in 2016 The Getaway. Since then, the guitarist has been working on his solo project Pluralone, and he had just joined Pearl Jam as a tour member. He also hits the road supporting Eddie Vedder in his upcoming Earthlings tour.
