Ahead of its much-anticipated premiere, details on Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 opening and closing revealed, giving fans an early look at what to expect when the series premieres on July 6, 2023.

What is the opening theme of Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen?

The Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 opening of the hit anime series is “Ao no Sumika” (Blue House) by Tatsuya Kitani. The final theme for the series is “Akari” (Lantern) by Soushi Sakiyama. Both singles won’t officially come out until July 19, 2023, but Season 2 will appear a few weeks earlier for fans.

The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will air on two courses over a continuous half-year run. The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will adapt the Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu and Shibuya Incident arcs of the hit manga.

Jujutsu Kaisen premiered in October 2020 with a 24-episode first season of Crunchyroll and immediately became a hit with fans. The prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released in Japan on December 24, 2021, and since its release has become the 64th highest-grossing film in Japanese box office history.

The anime is based on the manga title of the same name. The manga and anime have found widespread success in Japan, with the manga selling over 55 million copies.

“Yuji Itadori is a high school student with extraordinary physical abilities, living a normal life,” reads the official synopsis for Jujutsu Kaisen. “But one day, to save his schoolmate from a ‘curse,’ he ate a special grade cursed item, ‘Sukuna’s Finger,’ and got the curse inside his soul. Itadori, who now shares his body with the cursed spirit ‘Sukuna,’ transfers to an institution specializing in curses, Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, to be guided by the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer, Satoru Gojo… One the story of a high school student who brings a curse to expel it.
