In a press release, Kelela shared a brief statement about “Like a Tattoo”:
Sade Adu and his mononymous band last released new material in 2018 with “The Great Unknown,” a one-off film contribution by Steve McQueen Widows. Sade says they are working on an album at Miraval Studios in France, a studio owned by Brad Pitt. Sade Adu was admitted to Songwriters Hall of Fame in January for his work in front of the band.
Kelela released her second album, Ravenon February 10, it was followed up with a new video for the album track “Enough with Love.” At the end of March, he will join Res and KeiyaA a performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music as part of a programming series curated by Solange Knowles.
