Kendrick Lamar already won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album with mr. Morale and the Great Steppers. The rapper took home the award from fellow nominee Pusha T (Almost Dry), Jack Harlow (Come Home Kids Miss You), In the future (I never liked you), and DJ Khaled (Made by God).
Lamar has now won Best Rap Album three times, winning in the category of 2016 (In Pimp and Butterfly) and 2018 (Damn.); Lamar was also nominated for the the 2014 Grammy Awards with Good Boy, MAAD CityBUT lost to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
Earlier tonight, Lamar’s single “The Heart Part 5” took trophies for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. His Best Melodic Rap Performance nod (for “Die Hard” with Blxst and Amanda Reifer) went to Future, Drake, and Tems, who got the honor for their track “Wait for U.”
Lamar is the most nominated male artist at the 2023 Grammy Awards, earning eight total nods. Only Beyoncé and her nine nominations surpass Lamar.
