Kill Details Breakdown of Justice League Service Elements and Each Character

Rocksteady Studios is ready to reveal more features Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League in Sony’s February 2023 State of Playa game still shrouded in mystery even after three months from release. The team came as promised and ended up explaining its story and showing a little gameplay.

The stream destroyed every hero. Harley Quinn is the most acrobatic, because she can swing and keep her momentum going with her Spider-Man-like grappling hook. Deadshot can fly around with his jetpack and use sniper rifles, assault rifles, and pistols to “fit the fantasy” of the character. King Shark is a brutal tank that takes a lot of damage and has the fastest melee attack. Captain Boomerang has a speed-powered gauntlet that allows him to zip around, which can be used with his boomerang and allows him to move quickly. Players are meant to use movement in conjunction with combat to constantly move while killing. Much of this is shown above in the gameplay video, but explained in the developer diary below.

There are also different types of tools and weapons (shotguns, miniguns, pistols, assault rifles, SMGs, and sniper rifles) and RPG and gear score systems, all of which confirm the surviving elements of the service previously explained. Gear sets are also themed around villains, and the example given is the Bane set which gives players buffs inspired by the big brute. Weapons have different manufacturers that tend to change how they play.

Players can get all kinds of gear and upgrade it regularly. A higher gear score means that users can tackle more difficult missions. These more challenging missions tend to be built around co-op, as each mission supports up to four people, but they can all be played solo as well. Bots will sub-in for the other three heroes, but solo users can swap between them. However, it is not clear if that will be possible during a mission.

Rocksteady has also committed to supporting the game post-launch with new characters, missions, and weapons. There is also a battle pass with cosmetic items.

Penguin is also in the game, as the arm dealer and it looks like Nolan North is reprising his role from Batman: Arkham games. There are also new characters like Hack, a digital ghost who helps characters navigate the world and “upgrade their neck bombs;” Toy Man, a man who can add tools to the Suicide Squad, and Gizmo, the vehicle builder. The gameplay trailer also features a cameo from Wonder Woman, who isn’t warped by Brainiac. He uses his Lasso of Truth to extract a shocking revelation from the corrupted version of The Flash.

All this seems to be consistent with leaked images of the user interface from January which features many live elements of the service. Many have been critical of the image, but it remains to be seen how additional context from State of Play will change that notion.
