Talked to different, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Lead Letitia Wright was asked about the possibility of Marvel Studios greenlighting another installment of the blockbuster superhero film. Wright told that Black Panther 3 may already be in the works. However, he soon admitted that it will definitely take some time before the potential project goes into production.
“I think it’s in the works,” Wright said. “You know, we just had a great two years of putting it out and everyone coming together to support it. We need a little bit of break, we need to regroup and Ryan [Coogler] need to get back to the lab, so it’s going to take a while, but we’re excited for you to see that.
Based on Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever continues to explore the unique world of Wakanda and all the rich and diverse characters introduced in the first film. Ryan Coogler directed it from a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole.
The sequel features the return of Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Florence Kasumba. They were joined by new franchises Tenoch Huerta, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livinalli.
Since its airing in November, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has grossed over $800 million at the worldwide box office. For her performance as Queen Ramonda, Bassett won her second Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actress.
