“Time keeps ticking” until Netflix released marking, marking… BOOM!, the film’s expected adaptation of Abang musical autobiography by composer Jonathan Larson. The streamer shares a new trailer for the upcoming feature-where the marks are Lin-Manuel Mirandadebut in the directory – and it’s centered around Larson while cutting his teeth in New York City as an aspiring player in the game. In addition, Netflix also shared the first single on the soundtrack, “30/90.”
marking, marking… BOOM! is scheduled to premiere in theaters Nov. 12, and come streaming Nov. 19. Starring Andrew Garfield, the musical follows the struggles of a growing drama writer amid the ongoing AIDS crisis. While pressure from his peers and loved ones weighs heavily on him, Larson feels his time is almost here – a message aimed at “30/90,” a song that sees the character Jon who never celebrated his 30th birthday. Featuring vocals from Garfield, Joshua Henry, and Vanessa Hudgens, the track follows the feeling, “The years are getting smaller / The lines on your face are getting longer / Feels like you’re stepping on water / But the energy by riptide. “
