Lizzo won Record of the Year for “About Damn Time” at the 2023 Grammys


Lizzo already won the 2023 Grammy Award for Record of the Year for him special single”About Damn Time.” She beat out ABBA, Adele, Beyoncé, Brandi Carlile, Doja Cat, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and Steve Lacy. In her acceptance speech, Lizzo gave a shout-out to artists who inspired her including Prince and Beyoncé, whom she called “the artists of our lives,” referring to Adele’s 2017 Grammy comments about Beyoncé.

Lizzo is nominated for several trophies tonight, including Album of the Year (special), Song of the Year (“About Damn Time”), Best Pop Solo Performance (“About Damn Time”), and Best Pop Vocal Album (special).

Before tonight, Lizzo had three Grammys under her belt, all of which were awarded in 2020. She went home Best Pop Solo Performance for “Truth Hurts,” as well as Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Albumsame for his 2019 LP, Because I love you. The singer will begin a grand tour to support special later this month.
