Madonna expressed his experience as a parent.
The “Like a Prayer” singer explained why he thinks it is “a challenge” for his six childrens—daughters Lourdes26 and mercy16, twins Esther and Stella10, and sons Rocco22, and David17—to grow up with her as a mother.
“Today I still struggle to understand how to be a mother and do my job,” Madonna shared during a cover shoot for Vanity Fair“Icon Issue” by released in Europe. “Because, whoever you are, having children and raising them is a work of art.”
And after that decades topping the charts and sometimes gracing the big screenpreparing for her the role of mother is not always easy for Madonna, who adopted David, Mercy, and the twins as a single mom, sharing Lourdes with a former boyfriend. Carlos Leon and Rocco with ex-husband Guy Ritchie.
“Nobody gives you a manual,” the 64-year-old also explained. “You have to learn from mistakes. It’s a profession that takes a lot of time. It’s tiring because there’s no rest.”
