The star of the Good Place Manny Jacinto revealed some information about his Star Wars character in the upcoming Disney + series The Acolyte.
The series is set more than 100 years before the events of the nine original Star Wars movies in a time where there are many Jedi, but it seems that the character of Jacinto will not become one himself.
Who did Manny Jacinto play in The Acolyte?
While talking to Empirethe actor described his character – whose name has yet to be revealed – as “just a regular guy, trying to have fun, who gets dragged into the world of the High Republic and the Jedi, whether he likes it or not.”
The Acolyte is described as a mystery-thriller that takes viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers set during the last days of the High Republic era. More details about its characters have not been revealed, but the title of the project deals with a Sith in the beginning stages of their training under an experienced Sith Lord.
The Disney+ series is written and executive produced by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who will also serve as showrunner. In addition to The Acolyte, Lucasfilm is also currently developing several Star Wars projects, including Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, and more. Acolyte is expected to debut in 2024.
