An animated version of the Fox sitcom Married… With Children is in the works of Sony Pictures Television, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The report says the core cast of the original series, including Ed O’Neil, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino, have all signed on to change their roles in voiceover form. Alex Carter (a writer and executive producer of Family Guy) is set to serve as the showrunner of the series, where the report notes will be brought to potential buyers in the future.
This isn’t the first time a revival for the series has been tried, with Sony also trying to make a 2014 spin-off centered on Bud Bundy (Faustino), though the series hasn’t progressed. This new move comes as the Hollywood Reporter reports that Sony continues to search for new ways to restore movies from an existing IP library.
