New promo art for Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated sequel The Wonders has surfaced on the internet, giving fans a closer look It’s Zawe Ashton villainous role as Dar-Benn who shows off his giant war-hammer. The film will hit theaters on November 10.
In the comics, Dar-Benn is actually a male Kree created by Ron Marz and Ron Lim in 1991. As seen in the previous trailer, Dar-Benn is expected to have a series of action-packed battles against Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel by Iman Vellani.
What About The Marvels?
“Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel reclaims her identity from the oppressive Kree and takes revenge on the Supreme Intelligence,” reads the synopsis. “But unintended consequences will find Carol bearing the brunt of a destabilized universe. When his duties send him into an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, his powers become intertwined with those of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work together to save the universe as The Marvels.
Marvels will see the return of the Oscar winner Brie thewith as she reprises her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, last seen by fans Avengers: Endgame. Joining Larson in the sequel is WandaVision breakout star Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Amazing.
The sequel is directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman) from a screenplay by Megan McDonnell. The additional cast also includes MCU vet Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and popular South Korean actor Park Seo-Joon in an undisclosed role.
Captain Marvel Made its debut in 2019 where it earned a worldwide gross of over $1.1 billion, making it the fifth highest-grossing film of that year. It also stars Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, who are both set to star in their own Disney+ series Secret Invasion.
