According to Jane Sibbett, who played Clarice Kensington in the 1995 film, becoming a villain requires more than just acting. Credit must also go to the hair and makeup.
“We started taking Clarice’s wig and we started moving it to make her a little scarier when you walk,” Jane explained on the March 7 episode of They Think I’m You podcast. “It starts out normal with the bangs, but you’ll see it get bigger and bigger so that the forehead gets bigger and the angle takes shape.” (See the TikTok clip here.)
At the time her character was ready to marry Roger, played by Steve GuttenbergJane joked like a hawk.
“At the end, for the wedding scene, we use one shade too light,” he told the hosts Becca Roth and Lani Harms, recalling her glam for the scene. “I’m whiter and scarier. You can change your look by doing false colors.”
