New Kanye Netflix Documentary Jeen-Yuhs Hits Theaters Next Month

Act 1 in a three -part documentary on Netflix Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy gets a nationwide theatrical release on Feb. 10, Rolling Stone reports. The first part of the movie will hit theaters before the Netflix premiere on Feb. 16. Netflix has released a new a teaser trailer with a release date earlier today (January 10). The clip includes footage of Kanye West (now legally known as yea), scored by Caroline Shaw as “Partita for 8 Voices.”

Jeen-Yuhs has been in production for over two decades, and is led by Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah (aka Coodie & Chike). It will feature Ye’s unreleased archival footage. The film is set to premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival later this month, however the in-person ceremony was eventually canceled due to the rise of Omicron. A virtual event will take its place. Netflix releases a teaser clip for the documentary in September.
