Everything old is new again.
On Thursday, January 13, NBC announced that Quantum Leap may, in fact, revert, as the network commands a pilot for an unexpected reboot. This “Oh boy” -worthy news comes almost 30 years after Scott Bakula-led sci-fi series lost in the air.
For those unfamiliar with the original show, which aired on NBC between 1989 and 1993, Quantum Leap followed by physicist Dr. Sam Beckett, who was arrested in the past after an experiment went wrong. To get home, he has to jump between places, people and time to correct the mistakes of the past.
Intriguing, isn’t it? However, this is not your parent Quantum Leap, as the description of the new show mocks that “a new team has been assembled to restart the project in hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who made it.” Not to mention, TVLine reported that Bakula’s involvement in the project was “certain.”
