Origami Angel Unveils New Single “My PG County Summer”: Stream

Angel Origami announces a new mixtape, My Brightest Days, which is due June 16. The Washington, DC-based two-piece also unveiled their latest single from the project, a pop-punk tune titled “My PG County Summer.” Listen to the song below.

My Brightest Days written throughout the summer of 2020, during the initial, stay-at-home period of the COVID-19 pandemic. The songs were then recorded in August 2022, and capture the feelings of lost innocence that Origami Angel Ryland Heagy and Pat Doherty envisioned.

“My PG County Summer” specifically calls out the juxtaposing cultures that color the atmosphere of America’s capital – Heagy remembers the teachers who once taught him gratefully close to such a rich history, and then transferred his observational flow in the direction of hate- inciting, abortion protesting “travelers,” who come from all corners of the country to express their political agendas… sometimes violently, as seen in the attack on January 6.

Last month, Origami Angel released another single My Brightest Days: “Thank You, New Jersey,” a surf-inspired pop-punk bop that pays homage to the Garden State’s inimitable vibe. The music video – which featured the duo dancing in front of a green screen – is now out.

My Brightest Days will drop on DSPs on June 16, but will also be available in a special edition, orange vinyl print. Pre-orders as physical copies continue. Check out its artwork and tracklist below.

Origami Angel is also on the road, and is just days away from wrapping up a headlining tour. Then, they are again on the road, opening some dates for the glaive, who sings “1984” earned Song of the Week status from RESULTS when it debuts in 2021.
