Our Home Nearing Completion-An Updated Floor-Coded Floor Plan That Shows Progress

[ad_1]

Earlier this year, I shared a color-coded floor plan of our home showing the progress that has been made in each room. If you missed it, this is the state of our house in early 2021…

So, I decided to update the floor plan color scheme to see where things are like this hour, and I’m excited to see the progress !! Here is where we are now…

Look at all the roses! NAHUMAN! 😀 That includes the entryway / living room, music room, kitchen, guest room, hallway, bathroom hallway, pantry, half bathroom, and back entrance to the studio.

That’s a lot of finished places! And if you consider that most of these are carried by studs and ceiling wear (and some of them up to the floorboards), and require a little construction (more than simple decoration projects) , it’s really fun to see how far things have come.

As far as the places that are now going on, there is the breakfast content that we now use as a living room. As it is now…

That’s my most recent photo. I won’t be able to take a new photo this morning because things are a bit chaotic right now as I work on my new idea for the TV wall. It has to be finished by the end of the week, and I’ll show all the photos in full next week.

After the home gym…

Home Gym

I finished the walls there, and then had to stop working on the interior while work on the master bathroom began. When that project started, I didn’t know how I was on their way by continuing to work out at the home gym, so I enjoyed taking a break while they finished their bathroom work.

And speaking of the bathroom, their part needs to be finished now (which will probably have a little finishing touch on Monday), and they’re willing to hand over the room to me to finish.

You’ll notice the color scheme of the floor plan at the beginning of this year, I’m not sure if the bathroom is a project we’ll get to this year. I did it as a project we could start this year and finish next year. I’m so happy that we’ve been able to keep up this year, and I’m sure this year will definitely be over.

And there’s also my front porch in the “Ongoing – finish in 2021” category. The reason for that is because I really need to fix and get a new wood seal on my front porch before winter comes. Last winter (specifically our accidental two -week snowstorm) was very difficult in our house. We had to move into our house more than usual. We had wood on our front porch showing signs of decay. We have boardboards inside our house that separate. (Those are back to normal for the most part.) All that said last winter was more brutal in our house than all the previous years combined. And I don’t want to go this winter with a front porch that is unprotected against the weather.

So basically, the studio and master bathroom swap places. Now the studio is in the “can be carried until 2022” category, which is stupid, but I don’t see any other option unless I actually get the superpowers. The good thing is that my studio is fully functional just like this. I always use the desks in my workroom. The bad news is that my studio isn’t like this right now…

I have too much pride to show you a picture of how it looks today. 😀 But there are boxes and boxes of items belonging to this container, but later hidden in cabinets. Since I don’t have cabinets yet, I stuff boxes and boxes of things.

And that just left the carport, as it still is, removing the shutters leaning on the poles…

I have been planning for too long to get involved in the carport and make it my workshop. Do you remember that?

However, I decided not to do it. However, we plan to build a completely separate backyard workshop at some point.

I have two reasons for that judgment. First, I really want a covered area to park my car in bad weather. There is no better place for there than right where this carport is. If we make a covered parking area anywhere, separate it from the house, and I really don’t like that idea.

However, we spent thousands of dollars on a lot of laminated beams for the carport because they were built without supporting walls on either side. That’s thousands of dollars we could have saved if we had only planned to fit into it first. And that’s the thousands of dollars we’ll have to spend again to create a new covered parking lot elsewhere.

So after thinking about it, it made more sense to keep it as a carport, and after building a much cheaper structure (cheaper because it could have regular walls and not a lot of laminated beams). ) in the back yard available for my workshop. We were on an acre of land, so there wasn’t as little space for a bathroom to get there. But that’s definitely a project at a time… another year.

Anyway, it’s really gratifying to see the unfinished areas shrink.

And before I knew it, I was no longer in the interior of home projects in today’s repair. It’s time for more soon!
