Sony has revealed a trio of PlayStation Plus Essential titles for April 2023. These games Meet Your Maker, Sackboy: A Great Appearanceand Iron tails and will be available from April 4 to May 1.
Meet Your Maker is the biggest of the three because it’s a new release, which Sony says it is revealed on March 14 that the game launched the service. This shooter from Dead in the Sun Developer Behavior Interactive focuses on user-generated content and has players raid other user-generated dungeons like a mix of Mario the Creator, DESTRUCTIONand Minecraft. It will launch on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Sackboy: A Great Appearance a PS5 launch title, but coming to PS4 and PS5 PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers. This platformer brings Sackboy to 3D and features co-op levels and music that bobs to the beat of songs like “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars and “Toxic” by Britney Spears. The game was received relatively well and settled with an average score of 80 on OpenCritic. It also gets free DLC all these years later in the form of costumes.
Iron tails is the smallest of the three and is also available on PS4 and PS5. This hand-drawn 2D soulslike RPG has players taking a clan of frogs through difficult battles. And while widely known as a difficult game, developer Odd Bug Studio has added more difficulty options a free update that also includes new quests and bosses. This title also got positive reviews and sits on a 83 on OpenCritic.
The PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium lineups for April will be revealed at a later date, likely in a week or two.
