Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC Revealed, Will Include 2 Parts & New Pokémon


Pokemon Scarlet and Violet it’s about to get bigger. The Pokémon Company announced that both titles are getting two expansions: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask and Part 2: The Indigo Disk. The former is set for fall of 2023 and the latter will arrive after winter 2023. They are combined for $34.99.

The Teal Mask brings players from the Paldea region to a new place called Kitakami. Players will meet new characters and Pokémon in Kitakami while trying to uncover the mysteries behind local folk tales. This first episode will introduce the trainers to a trio of new creatures that once protected the earth. They are Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti, as shown in the picture above.

The Indigo Disk, on the other hand, takes Blueberry Academy players under the sea, as shown in the high-key art. Going as an exchange student, the players will learn the curriculum of this school, which specializes in fighting. The Pokémon Company hasn’t specified which new monsters will be in this second installment, however.

However, Ogerpon (left) and Terapagos (right) are the two new legendary creatures. The Hidden Treasures of Area Zero. Newer Pokémon also come with 230 familiars. These include Chingling, Shiftry, Milotic, Yanma, Vikavolt, Ninetales, Alcremie, Zebstrika, Whimsicott, Metagross, Dewgong, and Espurr, just to name a few.

Those who pre-ordered the DLC before October 31 will get some early unlocks now Scarlett and Violet. It includes a Hisuian Zoroark and a line of skins, as can be seen in the gallery above, that differ between the two versions. Zoroark cannot be captured normally and has a Dark terra type, knows the “Happy Hour” move, and has a Charismatic Mark that will further show off his unique properties.

The Pokémon Company also talked about other features coming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. There are a new pair of Paradox Pokémon appearing in Terra Raid Battles: the Water and Dragon-type Walking Wake and the Grass and Psychic-type Walking Wake, based on Virizion and Suicune, respectively.

Players can also send postcards from Pokémon Go in Switch games and Vivillon’s wings will change based on the location date from the card. Those of Pokémon Go who send postcards can also catch Roaming Form Gimmighoul so they can get coins to evolve it into Gholdengo. Pokémon House support will also come Scarlett and Violet in early 2023, allowing users to transfer their Pokémon to this latest entry.

Some users noted the lack of actual gameplay in this reveal, a potentially worrying sign ever since. Scarlett and Violet were widely criticized for their widespread technical shortcomings. Digital Foundry said it had “shining technical problems” and “should not be sold in this state.” Nintendo apologized in December 2022 for these issues and promised that it is “working to improve games.” However, the two still managed sold 20.61 million units in early Februarywhich is only two or more months after the launch.

This latest update that accompanies the presentation also has some fixes to it, but it remains to be seen what exactly it will be.
