Putting Instagram Influencers’ Product Recommendations to the Test – Wireless Art Light, Candle Warmer, and Faux Pine Trees

I have to admit that I am a total sucker for products recommended on Instagram. I try to control myself, but I end up making a few purchases every month while scrolling through Instagram. Sometimes, I am very happy with the purchases. Other times, I’m not so impressed.

So here are three purchases I made last month, based on the recommendations of Instagram influencers, and what I really thought of them.

I’ve wanted a picture light above this piece of artwork in our living room for a long time, but art lights are hard to come by when you have available wiring where you want to put the light. But if you want a photo light in a place without cables, things are even more difficult.

When I saw this particular wireless, rechargeable picture light recommended by an Instagram influencer, and the price was reasonable for me, I decided to take the chance.

Well, I’m glad about it. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. It looks great, and it takes about five minutes to hang it on the wall.

When it needs to be recharged, it can be easily removed from the wall by removing it from the hanger, like this…

It’s kind of a similar idea to a French cleat, where the two prongs that come out go to these two cutouts behind the light to hold the light in place.

So when it needs to be recharged, I just take it off the hanger, put it on, and put it back on the hanger.

The light has a remote control and can be turned off, but it can also be turned on and off the light by touching the plastic thing on the end…

So this is a good buy. I recommend it, and you can find it here.

I started looking this dimmable candle warmer all over Instagram, and finally gave up. I love candles, and they seem safer than lighting candles, and I’m sure they’re healthier too. Plus, it’s a beautiful little light, and it’s perfect for a kitchen countertop.

This purchase is okay for me. It’s not great, but it’s not terrible. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars.

The problem is that it just doesn’t smell the same. I buy very fragrant candles, and it takes three days of using this light before I can smell my very fragrant candle outside the kitchen. (When one of these is lit, I can smell it all over the house.)

I don’t understand why it took three days of use before I could smell it outside the kitchen, but even though it seems to have reached its full potential with a warmer candle, the scent is about 60- Only 70% of what. this is when the candle is really lit.

It’s decent, and if you’re worried about a burning candle around kids or pets, it might be worth it. I personally prefer my candles lit so I can enjoy the full aroma. It’s a cute little countertop light, though, so I enjoy it for that purpose (while it fills the kitchen with a light scent) every night.

I’ve seen a few people recommend it these mini pine trees, and I finally decided to try them. I bought two of these to flank my front porch door. I will be honest. I’m ready to disappoint them because…they are fake. Fake trees. For my front porch.

Well, I enjoyed them!! I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

I need to get different planters for them because they look old and worn after a few years of use, but I’m excited now to spend some time giving my front. that balcony of a refresh. I need to keep the planks on the porch, repaint the door, and do some general cleaning. And then I had to find the perfect planters for these beautiful little cedar trees.

This is how they look straight out of the box…

That’s why they need a little work to make them look beautiful and full. I think the photo on the Amazon product page is a little misleading. That picture looks fuller than I could achieve with my actual tree, but I’m still happy.

I achieved a fuller look (without exposing the less beautiful central trunk) by bending each branch from the central trunk where the two are attached…

And then about two inches from the center trunk, I bent the branches up…

That gives it a fuller look, while hiding the center trunk from view. And then, each of these little things (leaves?) can be spread and spread to make it look fuller…

There are several different styles from this company, and I will definitely be getting more of them. You can see the 3-foot trees I have herebut I also plan to take it some of these little 2-foot plants as well.

I think they are beautiful, and they never look fake to me. Now if you are a plant person, and you thrive on spending your days in your garden or working on your landscaping and tending to your plants, this is clearly not for you. 🙂 But if you are like me, and you are proud of yourself only for keeping two real plants alive and do not feel that you can bite more now, but you want to add a little something to your balcony, I think these are good.
