Residents announce “Faceless Forever” Tour

The residents will embark on their long-awaited “Faceless Forever” 50th anniversary tour this spring.

The North American trek kicks off in Portland, Oregon on March 16th and hits 22 cities including Chicago, New York, and New Orleans. The “Faceless Forever” tour concludes with a three-night stint at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall from April 17 to 19. See the full live itinerary below.

The group’s latest groundbreaking trip to the Bay Area comes after three years of pandemic-related delays, with an anniversary celebration originally scheduled for 2020, then later. rescheduled to 2021, and later moved to late 2022. As previously planned, the “Faceless Forever” tour will feature songs from The Residents’ 1978 album Duck Stab as well as their 2020 LP, METAL, MEAT AND BONE.

In addition, each night will feature a screening of the debut feature film full of eyeball experimental rockers, Triple Troublewhich compiles footage from their scrapped avant-garde movie projects from the ’70s, Vileness Fats, with new material directed by longtime collaborator Homer Flynn. After making the rounds on the 2022 festival circuit, fans will be feasting their eyes Triple Trouble at each tour stop before The Residents take the stage. It is also available for viewing through MoMA’s “Virtual Cinema” platform between March 9 and 23.
