Ringo Starr, 11-year-old YouTube sensation Nandi Bushell, Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith, and by Pearl Jam Matt Cameron are among the 100-plus drummers to be seen on a cover The Beatles‘”Unite” for charity.
Supports the cover of “Drum Together” NganoLang, a charity that will work to end hunger in the United States and abroad. The star-star list of performers also with Max Weinberg (E Street Band), Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater), Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Gene Hoglan (Testament), Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge), Ray Luzier (Korn), Simon Kirke (Bad Company), and many more.
An unprecedented task, the drum-centric cover successfully mixed a surprising number of percussionists into a 10-minute track. Sync’d video brings to life their performances, as each artist appears to be truly motivated for a good cause.
Aside from the obvious pun, “Come Together” is definitely the perfect song choice for a charity drum cover. The message of unity is appropriate for charity, and the slinky bass line and deliberate movement make it an undeniably universal song for bassists and drummers.
The “Drum Together” project was an executive produced by Brian Resnick and Dom Famularo and arranged and produced by Randy Waldman. The clip was directed, edited, and produced by Dakota Lupo and audio engineered and co-produced by Russ Miller.
