During last week’s UFC 285 event, Jake Gyllenhaal was on hand to film scenes for the upcoming House on the Road make again. This includes actually entering the octagon to film some fight scenes.
completion filming scenes of himself weighing in and fighting his opponent (played by a former UFC fighter Jay Hieron), Gyllenhaal and the film’s cast took things a step further. In the middle of UFC 285 In the prelims, Gyllenhaal and Hieron took the octagon and actually staged a fight in front of a packed crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
In the scene, Gyllenhaal can be seen “losing” his fight, before landing some big punches on his opponent and knocking him down with a flying knee. Check it out below:
the House on the Road remake will be directed by The Bourne Identity filmmaker Doug Liman from a screenplay written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry. Production is expected to begin this month in the Dominican Republic.
Featuring Gyllenhaal and McGregor The Suicide Squad breakout Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen (Game Night), Gbemisola Ikumelo (The Last Tree), Lukas Gage (The White Lotus), Hannah Love Lanier (A Black Lady Sketch Show), Travis Van Winkle (accepted), BK Cannon (Transferred to Birth), Arturo Castro (Wide City), Dominique Columbus (Ray Donovan), Beau Knapp (Southpaw), and Bob Menery.
“The new take follows a former UFC fighter who works as a bouncer in a rough-and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys, but soon discovers that not everything is as it seems in this tropical paradise, ” reads the synopsis.
The original film was directed by Rowdy Herrington. It stars Patrick Swayze as he portrays the role of a bouncer named Dalton, who is hired to clean up one of the rowdiest, loudest bars in Missouri, The Double Deuce. The late actor also co-stars with Kelly Lynch, Sam Elliott, and Ben Gazzara.
