Roosevelt Island Waterfront Pool Now Open!
Summer has officially started and that means it’s also the start of pool season! If you’re looking for a change of scenery from the NYC Public pool, families have a chance to splash in Manhattan Park annual Pop Up Pool Party!
Each year this luxury waterfront rental community pool, located along River Road, becomes a colorful oasis that families can enjoy throughout the summer.
This year’s mural was created by Hratch Arbach, a Syrian-Armenian artist with a Ph.D. in microbiology and virology, and follows the theme of sustainability.
EVP of New Developments The Corcoran Group, Jodi Stasse, said in a press release, “We are very interested in Hratch Arbach’s approach to his design for the pool deck. This year we want to focus attention on the influence of the nature of art and artists.
Arbach’s mural in Manhattan park is part of his ongoing series “Letters from the Sea.” When asked about the installation, the artist said, “The Manhattan Park pool is the perfect venue for this piece from my series, given the location of Roosevelt Island in a tidal estuary and its relationship to the Sea. Atlantic. “
Not only was Arbach the chosen artist for this year’s project, but he also painted the entire pool deck on his own with the help of friends in the Roosevelt Island community! He needed two weeks and about 75 gallons of paint to complete the installation.
Residents and visitors to Manhattan Park will have the opportunity to enjoy the pool throughout the summer of 2022. For more information on how to obtain seasonal pool memberships, see The Manhattan Park’s Pool Club Flyer.
