Sam Neill75, greeted fans with a video revealing he is doing “alive and kicking” despite the recent revelation of his non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis in two recent interview and his new memoirs, Have I Told You? The actor, who also revealed that he undergoes chemotherapy once a month, took the Instagram on Mar. 18 to share the clip, with a long caption providing an update. “Hi, I’m Sam Neill! Actor of sorts, vintner, and an author as it happens,” he wrote at the beginning of the caption.
After adding that his health “is the news like all the news right now, and it’s kind of like, ‘Cancer! Cancer! Cancer!,'” he admitted that he was “a little tired, because as you can see, I alive and well, and I’ve been in remission for eight months, which feels great.”
Sam Plus wrote to fans about his recovery journey and gave them an update on what he’s been up to in his career. In addition to discussing his new Peacock series, Apples Don’t Fallwhich also stars the actress Annette Bening, he goes into detail about his memoir and why he wrote it. “I just hope the headline isn’t ‘that thing’, because the main thing is that I wrote this book, it’s called Have I Told You?and it deals with cancer, because that’s the kind of context in which I wrote it,” he wrote.
“But I never intended to write a book,” he added. “I needed to do something while I was getting treatment, and I was used to working, and suddenly I couldn’t work.” He is thankful for his success as an actor.
“I never thought I would have a career as an actress, let alone a screen actress,” she wrote. “But that’s how it happened and I’m full of gratitude looking at this life, and that’s what the book means. Hope you enjoy it.” She ended her post by assuring her fans “not to worry too much about ‘all that’ because I’m fine.”
Sam is best known for his role as Alan Grant of the hit Jurassic Park franchise. He also starred in the popular 1990s film, The Quest for Red Octoberand has won many awards for his work over the years.
