Samara Joy won Best New Artist at 2023 Grammy Awards. He was chosen alongside Anitta, Domi & JD Beck, Latto, Måneskin, Molly Tuttle, Muni Long, Omar Apollo, Tobe Nwigwe, and Wet Leg.
Joy, a 23-year-old jazz singer, released her second album, Stay awhile, last year via Verve. The LP earned her a nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album at this year’s Grammys, and Joy claimed the award earlier in the day. Joy also performed during the premiere ceremony at the Microsoft Theater.
