TODAY co-host Savannah Guthrie temporarily left his anchor chair after testing positive COVID.
The 51-year-old left the morning live broadcast on February 28 following his test results, along with co-host Sheinelle Jones sharing an update shortly after.
“By the way, this is an interesting morning for us,” Jones said the audience. “As we said, Savannah left early, she wasn’t feeling well, so she took a Covid test. It came back positive. So, when we found out, she rushed home to rest. So, Savannah , we love you, wish you a speedy recovery.”
Guthrie previously tested positive for COVID twice before, in JANUARY and May 2022, respectively. After testing positive the second timethe reporter shared an update on his health status with his colleagues, announcing that despite the circumstances, he felt fine.
“I had a little bit of a cold, so I was really lucky with it,” Guthrie-who has children Vale,7, and Dr. Charles5, with husband Michael Feldman—said a May 10 TODAY video call. He also reflected on the alone time he had, adding, “I had five days alone—can you imagine?”
