The latest drama between Shakira and his ex Gerard Pique Shows the singer opening up about their divided for the first time on television! Shakira appeared The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday, March 10 to sing his new breakup song “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” with his partner Shaving and after a startling performance, he spilled the tea. “I had a tough year after my breakup and writing this song meant a lot to me,” the Grammy winner revealed. “It’s a healthy way to channel my emotions.”
“I feel like after we finish this song, I feel like I not only have fans but a sisterhood of women who have been through the same things, who think the way I think, feel the way I feel and should to put up with. so much crap, the way I have to,” he added.
Shakira, who has sons, Milan9 and Sasha7, with Gerard, released the diss track in January, a few weeks after the couple parted ways. The split came after Shakira allegedly discovered that the athlete was fine with her new romance with her now-boyfriend Clara Chia Marti while he and Shakira are another thing. With the song, which has broken 14 world records, Shakira said she truly connected with her female fans.
“It was unbelievable to feel the reaction from so many people,” he said Jimmy Fallon. “I think people really connect with music when it’s real and it’s real, it’s coming from a real place. The thing about this song is that it’s become an anthem for a lot of women out there.
The song has lyrics that appear to reference Shakira’s breakup and HIM financial trouble. “You left me with in-laws as my neighbors, media outlets at my door and in debt to the Treasury,” the beauty sang in Spanish. “You think you hurt me, but you made me stronger/ The girls don’t cry anymore, they cash in.” He also released a music videos for the song, which has racked up millions of views.
