Emily VanCamp revealed that though she has doubts about the controversial kiss between Sharon and Steve in 2016 Captain America: Civil War.
Actress Sharon Carter, Emily VanCamp, admits that even she is the one she thought Steve Rogers would kiss Captain America: Civil War very far. Agent 13 returns to MCU after five years of reviving discussions about the controversial timing of the Joe and Anthony Russo film from 2016. As such, VanCamp himself was asked about the scene while in the press The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and in his most recent interview, he opened up about the experience of filming that scene.
Introduced by Captain America: The Winter Soldier as a SHIELD operative working for Nick Fury, he eventually joined the government after the organization collapsed when it was revealed that it had joined HYDRA. He became a member of the CIA, effectively involving him in the bombing of the UN Assembly carried out by Zemo and the assassination of King T’Chaka by Wakanda in Civil War. Despite his official loyalty to the government, he helped Team Cap in their escape after they refused to sign the Sokovia Accords, effectively making him an enemy of the state. But before he could hide, he shared a brief kiss with Steve, which resulted in several eyebrow raises since he was already granddaughter of Peggy Carter.

Speaking to Tigbangi on the heels of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, VanCamp was asked about in particular Civil War moment and frankly he revealed that even he was skeptical about making the kiss. Since he never knew where the plot point was going, everyone just did their best to serve the settled story. Read what VanCamp has to say about the kiss below:
You are a kind of trust and hope that everything makes sense in the end. I had a few moments where I thought, ‘Are we going to walk far here? Should it be a more enjoyable, friendly time? ‘I really don’t know. I don’t think any of us really know Hard to answer because I don’t think there’s anything wrong with anyone not doing it throughout the story. I don’t think anyone knew where it was going or what we were going to do at that time. It was a sweet moment as ever. It’s hard to answer because you don’t want to say, ‘Well, it was a terrible time and it didn’t make sense,’ because everyone is just doing as much as they can to serve the story. that moment, really. And so, yes, you are all fair, I think, doing the best you can and have a good one coming out of it, which is this enthusiasm between Sam and Bucky in the car! And so something good came out of it, finally. And here we have The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Now, Sharon is back at MCU after years of hiding following the fallout from her decision to side with Team Cap in Civil War. But instead of being the ally he used to be, he has undergone a significant change the villain, Power Broker. This is the big twist on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and while the show doesn’t explain what caused her to change, the main idea is that she needs to learn to care for herself after causing her to leave. He made a living selling high art on the black market in Madripoor, but after he was pardoned, he returned to the U.S., even though there were no plans to stop his illegal operations.
Even when he returned to MCU, Sharon and Steve kissed in Captain America: Civil War never carried. With the former Captain America now with Peggy, the chances of further discovering this unscrupulous plot are slim. If anything, it might be something Marvel Studios doesn’t want to talk about anymore.
