Nearing the $ 1.5 billion milestone, the new film was quickly the most successful film during the pandemic. Another remarkable achievement was that No Pauli now worth 12% at the 2021 box office. The franchise has been heavily discussed on social media, including requests that new Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield films be made after the previous two Spider-Men entered the MCU with appearances on No Pauli.
the Shrek franchise released some very entertaining and successful films between 2001 and 2010. Since then, the ogre and his friends have found popularity through social media. In May, Shrek trended on Twitter for the 20th anniversary of the original film, proving that this film is still loved many years later. The franchise itself was intended to mock classic fairy tales, and now countless memes are being parodied into films. The gingerbread man is an iconic character in movies and it has become a lot of memes themselves.
Last week, Spider-Man fan Jokari P Posted a YouTube video of Maguire’s Spider-Man eating gingerbread man from Shrek. It started with a famous shot from 2002’s Spider-Man, where Peter was seen cradling in his New York City apartment and then taking off his mask. The camera moves to see his family and friends come over to see what all the noise is but instead of Peter, they see a portal closing, as seen in many Marvel movies today. The video is cut with Lord Farquaad mocking the gingerbread man in his castle and then Peter is seen walking outside the castle eating the beloved cookie. Watch the full video below:
Spider-Man appears in the Shrek universe in this video as opposed to the Tom Holland Spider-Man universe as the celebrated crossover surprise in No Pauli. In this parody, as Doctor Strange makes more spell mistakes to make the world forget that Peter is Spider-Man than the mistakes of the major majors he made in the actual movie. There seems to be no obvious reason why Maguire’s Spider-Man just happened to be Shrek universe from all other places, but in today’s meme culture, the audience is likely to just accept it and enjoy it.
The two franchises have some similarities, other than the fact that Spider-Man now has magic in his movies, thanks for including Doctor Strange. Shrek set in a fairy tale world, while Spider-Man Relatable ostensibly to the ways that an ogre marrying a princess is impossible, and the battle between the franchises makes the parody video even more fun. This video is a great way to celebrate the release Spider-Man: No Way Home and to remind people how much they enjoy Shrek movies.
