Star Wars just reversed Anakin’s Hated Sand moment

In Star Wars: The Bad Batch, young Omega is visiting a new world and his excitement is in direct contrast to how Anakin Skywalker feels about the sand.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch just made a fun twist on the hated sand dune Anakin Skywalker ever since Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. In the second installment of the Skywalker saga, Anakin is the Jedi approved by Obi-Wan Kenobi, charged with defending Senator Padmé Amidala in his homeworld of Naboo, where Padmé’s love with Anakin began. However, some of their conversations are more notoriously cheesy, including a bad scene where Anakin reveals that he hates the sand. It’s funny, The Bad Batch shows a scene in its second installment of the animated series, which sees the young woman Omega find it really weird.

Anakin Skywalker’s dislike of the sand stems from his childhood, as he was kept as a slave with his mother in the desert world of Tatooine. As Anakin said, “it’s cruel, brutal and annoying … and it comes everywhere. “Obviously, he’s not a fan, but his attempt to use those negative feelings into a weird pickup line about Naboo and Padmé was soft and neatly understood by most of the audience. most reliable. However, it worked and Anakin and Padmé form a relationship which led to their marriage.

Putting the scarcity of the scene from Attack on Clones besides, an interesting reversal is shown in The Bad Batch, episode 2, “Cutting and Running.” At the start of the episode, Clone Force 99 evades the Empire, only to escape the clone equipment in the water world of Kamino. They also brought the child female clone named Omega with them, as he himself was healed in some way like them. Landing on the planet Saleucami to meet an old contact with Cut Lawquane, this new world is the first Omega has passed through. As a result, it was also his first contact with plants and soil. As such, Omega took a few moments to marvel at the sandy dirt at her feet, grabbed a handful and saw that it was really weird, an impossible change in Anakin’s feelings. . It’s not just fun in Anakin’s time, though – it’s also thought to be causal.

Omega’s lust for the earth is a good opportunity to develop for his character, as it perfectly shows how he was taken from the rest of the galaxy to the present day of his life. His literal first steps took him by surprise, and it was clear that he was coming into a much larger and more vast universe than he had expected to agree to join the Bad Batch. Likewise, Anakin Skywalker’s journey begins in the same way, also a gift child who feels equally trapped in his homeworld of Tatooine, until Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn came to change the course of his life (and the galaxy) forever.

Hopefully, Omega’s journey won’t continue in the same steps as Anakin did, as his path will inevitably go down a much darker path that transforms the Jedi Anakin Skywalker into the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how their origins are embedded, and how their experiences in their different homeworlds inform each other’s vision of Anakin and Omega. While this may not be the most primary disclosure at all Star Wars, there is enough importance to be pointed out as an interesting reversal of the past season shown in the new Star Wars: The Bad Batch Disney Plus series.
