Anthony Mackie, who is set to reprise his role as Sam Wilson/Captain America in the upcoming sequel Captain America: New World Orderrecently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and talked a bit about the status of Chris Evans’ character, Steve Rogers.
On the show, Kimmel asked Mackie if Rogers, the original Captain America, was dead, we didn’t see him die on camera after he returned to the present timeline as an old man at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
“That means he’s not dead,” said Mackie. “Why did you try to kill Steve? That is age discrimination. Nothing wrong with an old Cap. Old Cap gets, like, a discount on breakfast at IHOP. “
Kimmel then asked if Rogers was still alive, to which the actor jokingly told him that he saw Chris Evans recently saying, “Yeah, I think so? I didn’t see him die. I saw Chris two weeks ago.
