Tame Impala Share New Song “Wings of Time”: Listen


Tame Impala shared a new song written for the upcoming movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor the Thieves. The track is called “Wings of Time,” and you can listen to it below.

“Requested to make a track for D&D The soundtrack seemed like an unmissable opportunity to indulge my longtime love of fantasy prog rock,” said Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker in a press release. He continued:

I recruited my good friend Nicholas Allbrook, who is the person I know who appreciates this topic the most. We rented a villa in Spain, which looked like a castle, for two nights while on tour for Primavera. That location got us in the right frame of mind and it went from there. We stay up late with amazing song ideas and lyrics.

The song comes less than 24 hours after Parker revealed he is he broke his hip while running a half marathon. Parker promised that all future Tame Impala shows will go ahead as planned. “I will not give up on you,” he wrote.

Parker has contributed to two other film soundtracks recently; he joined Diana Ross for them Minions: Rise of Gru song “Raise the Sun,” and he remixed ” by Elvis Presley “Edge of Reality” for Baz Luhrmann Elvis biopic.

Also last year, Tame Impala shared a single called “The Boat I Row,” which is an unreleased track from their collection of The Slow Rush B-sides and remixes. The Slow Rush arrived in 2020.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor the Thieves is in theaters March 31, and stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, and Daisy Head. The film centers on a charming thief and a group of unlikely adventurers on a perilous quest to retrieve a lost relic.
