Speaking to ComicBook.com, Egerton said he “wants” to play Wolverine if given the chance, and in a recent interview with The New York Times, the actor also revealed that he recently met Marvel Studios, including the company’s president Kevin Feige.

Of course, when talking about the role, Egerton was furious, saying he was nervous about replacing Hugh Jackman’s legendary turn as a comic book character.

“I don’t think it’s wrong to say that,” Egerton said of wanting to take on the role. “I would have been excited but I would also be scared because Hugh is so associated with the role that I wonder if it is too difficult for others to do it. But hopefully if that happens, they’ll give me a shot. ”
