Teen Wolf: The Movie marks the long-awaited return of the MTV series more than five years after it went off the air. But unfortunately, not all members of the pack survived the reunion.
While many characters experience temporary fake death scenes in the Paramount+ movie, a few are dead and buried—the most famous, of course, being Tyler HoechlinIt’s Derek. The death scene was particularly striking for the actor behind the series’ main character, Scott.
“It’s very emotional. Tyler Hoechlin is someone I love very much and as I’m an actor and I know that there’s a difference from our characters and our own person, it’s emotional to read that,” Tyler Posey exclusively told E! News ahead of the January 26 premiere. “Also, I’ve loved Derek over the years. It’s redeeming Derek from any bad quality, any ferocious cat quality that he’s had for the last 12 years.”
But the actor noted that it was a story decision that made a lot of practical sense.
“I think it’s something that we need to talk about,” he continued. “We as humans are always dealing with the loss of a loved one, and fans have been dealing with that for years. This is another way we can connect with fans and anyone who cares.” -well. I think it’s beautiful the way we did it. . He became a real alpha before he died, his eyes were glowing red and it was just chilling.”
