Legend of tennis Martina Navratilova fighting cancer again.
The sports star, who previously had breast cancer in 2010, announced on January 1 that she was diagnosed with Stage 1 throat and breast cancer.
“This double whammy is serious but still fixable,” confirmed the 66-year-old man in a statement to Women’s Tennis Association. “I’m hoping for a favorable outcome. It’s going to stink for a while, but I’m going to fight with everything I’ve got.”
Navratilova, which can now be seen at Peacock’s The Real Housewives of Miami as a cast member’s wife Julia Lemigova, the WTA revealed that she underwent testing in November 2022 after discovering an enlarged lymph node in her neck during the WTA Finals in Fort Worth, TX. Doctors first noticed throat cancer and later discovered breast cancer was also caused by human papillomavirus.
Despite the news, Navratilova remains optimistic.
According to the WTA, Navratilova has ceased her tennis commentary duties and will no longer work on the upcoming Australian Open for the Tennis Channel.
