In the words of Ryan SeacrestAmerica voted and the winner was … Noah Thompson.

On May 22, the 20-year-old crowned winner of American Idol season 20, defeated the finalists Huntergirl and Leah Marlene. (Don’t worry, there’s no bad blood: Singers eagerly greet their friend after everything has been said and done.)

The season finale began with contestants showcasing their own take on the classic Bruce Springsteen songs, such as “Dancing in the Dark” and “Born in the USA.” Those translations were followed by performances of the original songs, which they wrote at the time.

Throughout the 3 -hour finale, Noah, Huntergirl and Leah were accompanied on stage by several performers, including Florida, Sara Bareilles, Ben Platt, Michael foam, Thomas Rhett, Melissa Etheridge and so on. Of course, judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan also appeared.

Thompson, whose son is named Walker, was one of two contestants to test positive for COVID-19 during the season. He and Fritz Hager held from their hotel rooms while alone.
