The second season of The Bad Batch has already been proven and is likely to fall in 2022, and is rounding out the year The Mandalorian season 3.
Several factors may have contributed to The Book of Boba Fett beating Hawkeye to the audience. One is the large number of MCU entries in 2021. Hawkeye is the middle ground between theatrical releases of Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home, and viewers may be a bit overwhelmed by a lot of Marvel Studios material. While Disney released two animated Star Wars series, the fact that The Book of Boba Fett is the first live-action series in over a year, with no Star Wars MOVIES or games released recently, there may be more interest in the series. While Disney + in 2021 was Marvel-centric, Star Wars definitely a driving force behind the streaming service in the new year.
