The Creator of Black Krrsantan Is Not Sure How to Pronounce His Name


Black Krrsantan has one of the harder names to pronounce in the Star Wars Universe and the character creator isn’t sure how to pronounce it.

There is a renewed interest in Black Krrsantan after his debut appearance in the second season of the Book by Boba Fett. The character is relatively new to Star Wars universe, originally began in 2015’s Darth Vader #1 from Marvel Comics. However, when Black Krrsantan made his first live-action appearance, there were questions as to how to pronounce his difficult name. According to the bounty hunter’s creator, Kieron Gillen, he’s not really 100% sure – but he has a prediction.

Black Krrsantan debuted with Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larocca’s Darth Vader series for Marvel Comics, because he was one of the bounty hunters working for Jabba the Hutt. Jabba will give the Sith Lord to his two best hunters, the Wookiee Black Krrsantan and Boba Fett. The former gladiator plays a key role in Darth Vader’s pursuit of Cylo. He also later worked for Doctor Aphra in a heist at Son-tuul Pride after the Battle of Yavin, and the Hutt Twins of Tattooine. The character made his live-action debut this week The Book of Baba Fett at Disney+, where he is called a Gladiator by his fellow bounty hunter. Black Krrsantan was seen working for the Hutt Twins.

From Kashyyyk, to Notluwiski Papanoida, to URoRRuR’R’R, the Star Wars The universe has no shortage of uniqueness names, some of which are more difficult to pronounce than others. The latter part of Black Krrsantan has always been a topic of discussion, as the four consecutive consonants at the beginning of Wookiee bounty hunter’s names often cause some confusion over the correct pronunciation of his name. Kieron Gillen, who co -created the character with Salvador Larocca admitted he wasn’t sure how it was also pronounced.

Gillen offered his opinion on how he pronounced the name, though. He followed up the Tweet by offering his phonetic pronunciation of Black Krrsantan, saying he did “K-rur! San-tan.” Not surprisingly, Doctor Aphra targeted Black Krrsantan by several nicknames during their comic book adventures, including “Black K,” “BK,” and “Santy.”


While Star Wars fans know how to pronounce Chewbacca, due to its importance and relatively quick name, other Wookiee like Black Krrsantan are even harder to try. From Shrandhnrignh, to Tojjevvuk to Grouaggerl, the Wookiee always have some more unique names in Star Wars Universe. However, it seems like the fans should learn how to pronounce Black Krrsantan is name as he could play an important part in the future The Book of Boba Fett stories. “K-rur! San-tan” was good to us.
