The Cure’s Robert Smith Remixes Noel Gallagher’s “Pretty Boy”: Listen


Noel Gallagher already signed up the medicineof Robert Smith remix”Beautiful Child,” a track from Gallagher and his band the High Flying Birds‘new album. Listen to the remix down.

Of the link-up, Smith said in a press release, “I was surprised and delighted when Noel asked me to remix this great song, and I had so much fun slowing it down and taking it apart—the Cure gave me drummer Jason Cooper. a great vibey drum track to play along to—and the rest just laid under the starry sky of my distant moon….”

Release High Flying Birds by Noel Gallagher Heaven in Council on June 2, through Gallagher’s label, Sour Mash. Talking about the album in 2020, he SAYS, “I wrote a tune that sounded a lot like the Cure, and I didn’t have to dial back the copyright, it just sounded like the Cure. It’s called ‘Pretty Boy.’”

Smith, for his part, has been vocal about the imminent arrival of a new Cure album. No details have been confirmed yet. In the past few years, he has also been doing remixes Chvrches and Deftones.
