Friday’s passage by the House of Representatives of HR 5376, aka the “human infrastructure law,” represents an unprecedented understanding of government overcrowding that threatens to undermine the family institution. on many levels.
Deceptively titled “Build Back Better,” this $ 2 trillion piece of legislation will actually break the back of future generations. The only thing it built was a deepening trust in Uncle Sam.
The “better” way is for the United States Senate to reject this bill.
In its current form, the bill would allow taxpayer dollars to fund abortions, mandate abortion coverage in health care plans and provide nearly $ 1.3 billion to help further indoctrinate and wash away brains of public school students with left propaganda, including critical theory of racism and risky gender equality policies. This includes a major amnesty bill for illegal immigrants. It also took more authority and influence from parents by further expanding universal preschool as well as diets for school children.
Simply put, it is almost impossible to know the depth of the dangers of this large, inconsiderate spending bill.
Republicans and Democrats have been sparring on spending for years, but this latest attack on the family has never been how bad it is.
At the heart of the HR 5376 debate is the role of government in our lives. The authors of this legislation believe that the government is in the best position to solve our problems and improve our quality of life. In fact, the government almost always makes things worse – borrowing and spending money doesn’t have to try and fix the issues it helped create in the first place.
Despite decades of evidence – from President Franklin Roosevelt’s “New Deal” to Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” program – history has proven that throwing public dollars into problems doesn’t help. – but ultimately harmful. It’s a fool’s errand. Even the wealthy liberals and those who don’t seem to get tired of spending money on other people.
Ludwig von Mises, the Austrian economist, once observed, “The worst evils that mankind has ever suffered from evil governments.”
I don’t think we should be surprised that such radical legislation will come from people whose government is their god. If you believe Uncle Sam is the savior and not Jesus, priorities will inevitably be broken and confusing.
The Senate is expected to start the bill after Thanksgiving. While it’s likely some of the more “moderate” in the upper room will cut things off the bill, experts suggest that its final passage is likely.
It appears that the current leadership believes they need to act immediately to pass this serious agenda and hide the crippled, socialist rights of the law because of the growing possibility of a change of leadership in November of 2022.
As believers, we trust the Lord for our ultimate security and outcome, but we have a responsibility to participate in the electoral process and do all we can to encourage leadership and policies that complement, not contradict, those. law of God.
Please call your senators and urge them to oppose this immoral and dangerous law.
