The Last of Us Episode 9 Photo Shows Original Ellie Voice Actor


Ahead of The Last of Us Season 1 finale premiere this Sunday, a new photo from the horror drama’s upcoming Episode 9 titled “Look for the Light” has been released, affecting another flashback sequence. The photo features Ashley Johnson as a grieving pregnant woman named Anna, who is confirmed to be Ellie’s mother.

For viewers unfamiliar with the show’s source material, Johnson is an integral part of the The Last of Us franchise. She originally voiced the character of Ellie Williams in two installments of Naughty Dog’s bestselling video game series. Besides Johnson, other voice actors from The Last of Us The plays have already made their appearance in the HBO series including Troy Baker, Jeffrey Pierce, and Merle Dandrige.

Together with Pascal and Ramsey are Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate) as Tommy Miller, Nico Parker (Dumb) as Joel’s daughter Sarah, Anna Torv (Mindhunter) as Tess, and Merle Dandridge (The Flight Attendant) as she reprises her role from the video games as Marlene, the leader of a resistance group known as the Fireflies. It also features Jeffrey Pierce (Bosch) as Perry, Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus) as Frank, Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) as Bill, and Storm Reid (Euphoria) said Riley.

“The live-action series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed,” reads the synopsis. “Joel and Ellie, a couple connected by the brutality of the world they live in, are forced to endure brutal conditions and brutal killers on a journey across a post-pandemic America.”

The Last of Us is executive produced and co-written by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and original screenwriter Neil Druckmann, who also serves as one of the directors. It is a co-production of Sony Pictures Television with PlayStation Productions. Executive producers are Carolyn Strauss, Naughty Dog President Evan Wells, and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan.
