Thunderbolts production has been halted for the upcoming Marvel film that will star a group of villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to The deadline, Marvel halted production on the movie. This comes just three weeks before filming begins in Atlanta. According to the report, production of Thunderbolts will resume after the WGA strike ends. This is the latest Marvel project to be delayed, because previously the pre-production of Blade was stopped, and the production was stopped on the Wonder Man Disney + series in Los Angeles.
When is the Thunderbolts movie coming out?
Thunderstorms was previously scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 26, 2024, as part of Phase 5. Depending on how long the strike lasts, that date may be missed and pushed back. However, no new date has been announced yet as the situation is still up in the air.
During the Marvel Studios panel at D23, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige opened up about the cast for the future. Thunderstorms movie, which will be a team consisting mostly of supervillains and antiheroes. It includes Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah Jon-Kamen), US Agent (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kerleynko), Yelena Belova/Black Widow (Florence Pugh ), and The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).
The film will be directed by Jake Schreier, whose history as a director is not very extensive, having only worked on 2012’s Robot & Frank, 2015’s Paper Towns, and the 2021 film version of Chance the Rapper’s Magnificent Coloring World Tour.
