The West Wing’s Aaron Sorkin Shares That He Suffered a Stroke


Aaron Sorkin recently suffered a medical emergency.

The West Wing The screenwriter revealed that he suffered a stroke in November.

Sorkin, 61, explained in a series of interviews with The New York Times published on March 22 that she found herself bumping into walls while walking to her kitchen in the middle of the night. The next morning, after he kept pouring his juice, he went to his doctor, where he learned that he had suffered a stroke.

In fact, his blood pressure was so high that Sorkin told the outlet, “You’re supposed to be dead.”

Regarding the physical impact that came with it, Sorkin shared that he had trouble typing and slurring words. Now, those effects are no longer part of his reality. However, every outlet, he can no longer taste food like he used to.

Looking back on the experience, Sorkin said, “It was mostly a strong wake-up call.”
