Huawei’s latest smartwatch can hold and charge wireless earbuds.
The innovative, two-in-one watch is called “Watch Buds” and has been confirmed by the Chinese tech giant. The “Watch Buds” feature a digital smartwatch face and ear-bud charging case embedded underneath, according to The Register. Owners will be able to push a button, which will trigger the watch face to open and reveal the underlying earbuds.
The design of the “Watch Buds” is similar to Huawei’s Watch GT series, sharing specs such as a steel casing and a leather strap. It will operate on Huawei’s HarmonyOS.

Huawei originally planned to announce “Watch Buds” on December 2. However, the death by former CCP General Secretary Jiang Zemin resulted in the mass cancellation of many Chinese product announcements. The release date of the watch is currently unclear.
Once it becomes available, consumers in the United States looking to buy a smartwatch may have a hard time. The Biden administration recently cracked down on Huawei, whose telecommunications products they say pose “an unacceptable risk” to US national security, Reuters reported. The company was placed in the US Commerce Department’s “Entity List“in 2019.
