UFC President Dana White Issues Statement Slamming His Wife

Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White released a statement after the video surfaced of him getting physical with his wife Anne White during the New Year celebration.

The video shows White being slapped by his wife. He then slapped her on the back. The entire conflict was caught on camera and was quickly broken up afterwards. The UFC has yet to issue a statement, and no punishment has been levied in the incident. The promotion currently has a television and streaming deal with ESPN, where it is one of the most popular content on ESPN+, and select cards that also air on ABC.

“Well, I’m in Cabo, Mexico, for vacation with my family. My wife and I were on Saturday night for New Year’s Eve, and unfortunately, that’s what happened. I’m one of those guys, you’ve heard me say for years, ‘There’s no reason for a man to put his hands on a woman,’ and now I’m on TMZ talking about it ,” White admitted to TMZ Sports.

“My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years. We have known each other since we were 12 years old. Obviously we do some things together, and we have three kids. This is one of those scary situations. I’m shy. But this is also one of the situations where now we are more worried about our children. We have three children and obviously since the video popped up, we have shown the children the video. We are more focused on our family now.”

White knows he will face criticism for his actions and it is all deserved.

“People have opinions about it, and most people’s opinions are right, especially in my case, you don’t put your hands on a woman. My wife and I obviously love each other and we’ve been together for a long time. We’ve known each other since we were little and it’s just one of those bad situations.”

White said “a lot of alcohol” was involved in the situation but it was not a factor.

“I’m literally not making any excuses for it. This has never happened before. This is the first time this has happened. People will say what they have to say. It just is what it is and what people say it deserves. I deserve it. This happened. I don’t know why this happened and my wife and I apologize to each other, we apologize to our children.”
