North Carolina band Wednesday shared the latest single from their upcoming album, Rat Saw God. “Bath County” came with a music video directed by Wednesday’s lead singer, Karly Hartzman. Check it out below.

“This is a song I wrote on a porch in Bath County, Virginia, when I and [lead guitarist] Jack [Lenderman] were visiting Jake’s moms hometown,” said Hartzman in a press statement about the single. “It includes some pictures I saw on that trip as well as a description of a man we saw overdosed in a parking lot early in the morning on our way to Dollywood.”

On the visual, Hartzman added: “The video I made myself is an homage to PJ Harvey’s video for ‘Man-Man.’ I’ve never seen anyone exude so much confidence as he did in that video. I’d like to pretend for a moment that I have that attitude but it’s harder than it looks! Endless respect to Peej.”

Rat Saw God is from April 7 through Dead Sea. Wednesday shared “Selected Eligible“and”Believe the bull” leading up to its release. The new album follows the 2021 album on Wednesday, Twin Blowsand last year’s collection of covers, Cut Leaves Instead of Piling.
