Wolfgang Van Halen marking today his father’s one -year anniversary Eddie Van HalenPassing with sad respect on social media.
In the year from the legendary Van Halen The guitarist is dead, Wolfgang’s accomplishments are unbelievable. she scored a hit No. with his first solo (“Distance”) under his solo moniker Mammoth WVH. His debut album came at Number 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and Number 12 on the Billboard 200 overall count. And he just finished an opening tour for the powerful Guns N ’Roses, though join them on stage for “Paradise in Paradise” in the last two performances.
Unfortunately, Eddie never had a chance to experience much success with his son’s only child. As Wolfgang said in his message to his late father, there are many things I would like to convey to you. His full respect reads as follows:
“One year.
You’ve been fighting for so long, but you’ve been taken away anyway. It’s very unfair.
I’m not ok. I’m not really ok. I have a lot to ask you to show me. There are so many things I want to share with you. I want to make you laugh again. I wish I could hug you again. I miss you so much pain.
I’m trying to do my best here without you, but it’s really hard I hope you’re still proud.
I love you with all my heart, Pop. Watch me. ”
Eddie Van Halen died of a stroke on October 6, 2020, with lung cancer among the underlying causes. A month later, Wolfgang dedicated to the song “Distance” to his father with a music video with home videos of father and son together.
The widow of the guitar icon, Janie Liszewski, also paid tribute to Eddie today, writing in part, “I think of you every day. Your smile, your laughter, your goodness – in every way. I miss it, I miss us, I miss you, and I try to keep going the way you want me to. ”
And former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar wrote, “I can’t believe it’s been a year. The guy is gone but the music has been alive with # before. ”
